In the 34th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Inguma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Rosario went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Francesco Cilli heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With 44 minutes on the clock, Jose Rosario commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Paunero:s Albino Inguma showed great skill when he stopped Axel Montenegro:s penalty. The corner led Colombia's Axel Montenegro to fire away a dangerous shot which Albino Inguma despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 51st minute of play forced Paunero's goalkeeper Albino Inguma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Albino Inguma successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 85 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Secada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albino Inguma narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Albino Inguma didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 85th minute, which inside left pole to 2-3. 89 minutes in the game Francesco Cilli did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Aristide Iureș. The Colombia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colombia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
