The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Robustiano Clementi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luiz Gustavo Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vista Alegre FC. In the 22nd minute, Robustiano Clementi made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldo de Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Ronaldo de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Jose Manzanedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Vista Alegre FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Casaus got free with Ronaldo de Moraes in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Åke Jönsson fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vista Alegre FC's protests and gave Åke Jönsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Åke Jönsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Clementi in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Chile's Jose Manzanedo got a free kick in the 57th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronaldo de Moraes. Vista Alegre FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Vista Alegre FC made a substitution. Elias Proença replaced Jordy Hoes. After 74 minutes of play, Vista Alegre FC's Robustiano Clementi made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Ronaldo de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 82nd minute of play forced Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Ronaldo de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 96th match minute, Vista Alegre FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robustiano Clementi to maneuver through the defense. When Robustiano Clementi got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Vista Alegre FC. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
