Santikurtz Brunet kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Pedro Indiano hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Pedro Indiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Lacasa to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Uηiση Aтℓεтιcσ Mαгαcαιвσ✈ booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Figueroa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chile's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. Gudesteo Quincoces made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 52nd minute of play. Gudesteo Quincoces showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 54th minute of the match. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
