With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Efren Reina tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Rubens da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milagros Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesús Incendio having to interfere. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efren Reina in the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubens da Silveira in the 73rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesús Incendio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Aleksander Jazwiec kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Rafael Gallo sped through Vestegnens Betonhelte's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jesús Incendio.
