Johnny Banks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Malmö White Knights's Roby Baggio in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnny Banks was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Malmö White Knights's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Johnny Banks made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 60th minute of play forced Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Alvarado to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Banks saved Malmö White Knights from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvijs Presley in the 70th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Banks. Johnny Banks dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Johnny Banks to make any attempt to save it. Johnny Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Eliseo Mina made a precise shot to the right of Johnny Banks. Malmö White Knights's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-6. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 92 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Tenorio. The Malmö White Knights fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
