Felix Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albert Rutledge. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Albert Rutledge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felix Martinsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. LA VIOLA's Felix Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in LA VIOLA's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Martinsson came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gottfrid Brenner in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ove Abrahamsson in the 96th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
