Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lolo Dominguez in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Industrial United's Vicente Dantas got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel De Pablo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel De Pablo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Industrial United defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel De Pablo. The Industrial United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel De Pablo should have stopped the shot. Hernán Millán hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Industrial United throughout the match.
