Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joel Gaona kicked off to start the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Messias in the 3rd minute of play. In the 8th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ediberto Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Palmeira's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mário Saldanha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mário Saldanha took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Palmeira's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Ediberto Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes of play, Palmeira's Adhemar Sá made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th match minute, Palmeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isak Okoronkwo to maneuver through the defense. Ediberto Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dante Lacasa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ediberto Rossi having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Mário Saldanha made the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Ediberto Rossi was a little too slow when Joel Gaona got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeira's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ediberto Rossi came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Messias in the 67th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adhemar Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Palmeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isak Okoronkwo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeira's goalkeeper Ediberto Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Ediberto Rossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes Joel Gaona rounded Palmeira's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-3. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Ediberto Rossi made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frederico Negri in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Macos Graciani made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Palmeira's Ediberto Rossi managed to reach the ball for a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Mexico players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
