After 19 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabinho Pitta was the one to do the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Beckett in the 94th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabinho Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. The Engineers had won after a very even match.
