Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xizavier Cladera thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Luix Nicola, a very annoying self made goal in the 8th minute which led to 0-1. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luix Nicola having to make a save. After 17 minutes, Xizavier Cladera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ríver Late and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ríver Late's goalkeeper Luix Nicola, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
