In the 23rd minute, Telmo Teves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 28 minutes of play, GD Fiães's Tobias Brites made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! GD Fiães's Cassiano Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Tobias Brites who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Joshua Secada hit a great ball. 4-0 became the score in the 41st minute when Tobias Brites elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Brites, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Cassiano Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 56th minute, Amável Quental hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amável Quental hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes GD Fiães got a freekick which was hit by Angélico Vilar. Mateus Valadares hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cassiano Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A throw-in in the 74th minute of the game was made by Bernardo Reis with Rubim Falcão as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. GD Fiães made a substitution. Higino Alcântara replaced Severiano Calado. GD Fiães's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amável Quental in the 78th minute. A nice corner shot did that Amável Quental got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Ibáñez in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. The supporters of GD Fiães booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Brites came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute Tobias Brites shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
