Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Du Jian Chen in the 8th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc-André Grifoll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc-André Grifoll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Ronaldinho Gaucho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of play forced La Mora CAT's goalkeeper Marc-André Grifoll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Coutinho came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severino Coutinho hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. A collision led to La Mora CAT getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Alarico Trinidad hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Coutinho in the 42nd minute of the match. Jose Policarpio in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dante Lacasa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Marc-André Grifoll didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to La Mora CAT getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Du Jian Chen hit a great ball. In the 55th minute Du Jian Chen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Du Jian Chen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Jose Policarpio sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Marc-André Grifoll threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of La Mora CAT booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Coutinho came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. La Mora CAT's Marc-André Grifoll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 87th minute of play. Marc-André Grifoll came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A collision led to La Mora CAT getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Alarico Trinidad hit a great ball. The supporters of La Mora CAT booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severino Coutinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
