Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alisson Becker having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Fu Shu Xuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sten Kvick in the 19th minute of play. Alisson Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. Oskars Glada Gäng's Alisson Becker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alisson Becker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alisson Becker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute Fu Shu Xuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arnaldo Enaut who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Alisson Becker in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Sten Kvick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Sten Kvick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alisson Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Adam Blue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Oskars Glada Gäng were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
