The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Castro got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krzysztof Jaraczewski in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the game, Tomas Illescas landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 22 minutes into the game, Mateus Carvalhal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Alberto Castro took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. In the 35th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Santiago Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Seleção de Macau booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santiago Sousa to make the kick off. 51 minutes in the game Octávio Valentim did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Elias Pais. 53 minutes into the game, Seleção de Macau's David Modesto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Santiago Sousa's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santiago Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th minute, Santiago Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Seleção de Macau booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. René Higuita was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roberto Ocampo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 66 minute of play.
