When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Gildo Donatello threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Christian Sancho quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tommie van Asseldonk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 32nd minute of play. Tommie van Asseldonk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. Aloísio Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommie van Asseldonk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute of the game Gildo Donatello made a throw-in which Dráusio Madureira played forward. Marcin Konieczny took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, FENIX FC's Valdomiro Seco got a free kick in the 65th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcin Konieczny scored 1-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Alves in the 81st minute of play. The throw-in from Vito Bertassi in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. 92 minutes into the game, Aloísio Arce cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to FENIX FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Gildo Donatello hit a great ball.
