Ken United's Jacinto Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ken United's zone, Lautaro Puig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Vaz came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Freire in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Paulo Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Freire in the 23rd minute of play. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! In the 31st minute, the referee gave Ken United a penalty. Pedro Travassos looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz stood somewhat misplaced when Rui Bento came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 35 minute. The supporters of Ken United booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Pedro Travassos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 56th minute Paulo Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Paulo Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Serpa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 88 minutes, Paulo Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ken United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Gervásio Boaventura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute Paulo Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Axel Tasis did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-1 to the left of a surprised Jacinto Vaz 96 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ken United fully deserved thier win.
