Jacobo Nores made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wouter Kluivert in the 4th minute. In the 5th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Zoido to maneuver through the defense. Kenneth van der Leegte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 7th minute of play. In the 7th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth van der Leegte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Escribano in the 8th minute of play forced SV Wissenkerke's goalkeeper Kenneth van der Leegte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 minutes, Ralph Cramer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SV Wissenkerke and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Cramer. Gerjan Staarman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerjan Staarman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. 29 minutes into the game, Mariano Bombarda lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Jacobo Nores. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 33rd minute of play forced SV Wissenkerke's goalkeeper Kenneth van der Leegte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth van der Leegte having to interfere. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Kenneth van der Leegte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Prats to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th match minute, SV Wissenkerke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Bombarda to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Wouter Kluivert fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Wissenkerke's protests and gave Wouter Kluivert a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paraguay booed when SV Wissenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wouter Kluivert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerjan Staarman struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Wissenkerke. When Wouter Kluivert was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. When Ralph Cramer was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 65 minutes had been played. Ralph Cramer kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Kenneth van der Leegte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stef Mol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenneth van der Leegte came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. But to his dismay, Hector Covarrubias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Many of Paraguay's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Paraguay may have spent more time on the ball, but SV Wissenkerke were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
