An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Xpertin's goalkeeper Savier Arco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Savier Arco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Xpertin's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Savier Arco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute Club Deportivo Xpertin were awarded a corner. Alexis Sánchez went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Club Deportivo Xpertin's corner Alexis Sánchez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexis Sánchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The supporters of Club Deportivo Xpertin booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Savier Arco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes, Club Deportivo Xpertin's Alexis Sánchez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexis Sánchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Savier Arco having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Club Deportivo Xpertin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexis Sánchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rollo Lukey came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
