Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Zbyszko Szpakowski kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 33 minutes into the match, Esteco's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso in the 41st minute of play. The Esteco fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Esteco's Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso in the 58th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo having to interfere. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Samuel Claude shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Esteco's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Zbyszko Szpakowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Esteco booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Esteco made a substitution. Rodolfo Perez replaced Celedonio Oliverios. Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 93rd minute of play. In the 97th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Esteco's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Esteco could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
