Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ferdinand Pflügge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. 98 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ferdinand Pflügge. Joel Gaona showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Spvgg München-Lerch. 05.
