Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Moreno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Téo Mello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Cup2's Eliseo Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 8th minute of play. Eliseo Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cup2's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 19th minute of play forced Cup2's goalkeeper Eliseo Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Cup2 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mladen Pashov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseo Moreno made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Joel Gaona sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
