After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Peng Xiong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Peng Xiong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Adilson Breckenfeld got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. The audience was convinced that Peng Xiong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peng Xiong in the 29th minute of the match. A very good chance. After 47th play minutes Peng Xiong shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The referee ignored Crottos Crotters F.C.'s protests and gave Baldomero Mateo a yellow card for diving instead. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play.
