When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Eriberto Oso took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. In the 18th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dong Zhen Song saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Dong Zhen Song tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dong Zhen Song. Dong Zhen Song dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dong Zhen Song. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Eriberto Oso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justo Froylan kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Dong Zhen Song took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dong Zhen Song breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cabezones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raf Feys didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Dong Zhen Song 51 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duran Hunalp in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Dong Zhen Song didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dong Zhen Song narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Justo Froylan kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Dong Zhen Song made a huge save. Serafino Blasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 minutes, Daniel Zorita made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Cabezones's Dong Zhen Song tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Dong Zhen Song. Cabezones's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. 77 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Duran Hunalp came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duran Hunalp in the 80th minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Raf Feys was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabezones's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 86th match minute, Cabezones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raf Feys to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Raf Feys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cabezones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Froylan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Dong Zhen Song made a huge save. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
