After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Genaro Luken took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Oscar Rito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Gaona in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albino Berriotxoa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Rito in the 88th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oscar Rito in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, Oscar Rito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oscar Rito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
