With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Javier Ferreyra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Javier Ferreyra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Javier Ferreyra came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Javier Ferreyra couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Sesuldo in the 95th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Ferreyra, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1.
