Laykers's Demetrio Greco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Demetrio Greco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Demetrio Greco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 24th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Lalli in the 28th minute of play. Laykers's Demetrio Greco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Laykers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonello Cesareo to maneuver through the defense. Ermanno Lalli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Laykers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The Laykers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Demetrio Greco should have stopped the shot. Laykers's Cosimo Bussi suffered a sore thigh after 77 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Ermanno Lalli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Laykers's Carmine Cavanna. But to his dismay, Carmine Cavanna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Laykers succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
