An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyprian Gizynski in the 3rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Karpaty Krosno booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Cyprian Gizynski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaw Kosmatka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match, Kacper Piekarczyk got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 29 played minutes Marcin Galaska rounded Venezuela's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. In the 37th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaw Kosmatka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, one of Karpaty Krosno:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Karpaty Krosno. Gustaw Kosmatka didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. If Cyprian Gizynski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Tomas Illescas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Wawrzyniec Bielecki got in the 54th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Jonathan Ferrant handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. If Wawrzyniec Bielecki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyprian Gizynski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaw Kosmatka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute Cyprian Gizynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Karpaty Krosno's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustaw Kosmatka came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyprian Gizynski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute of the match Marcin Galaska shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Wawrzyniec Bielecki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karpaty Krosno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wawrzyniec Bielecki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Cyprian Gizynski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Cyprian Gizynski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. 95 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustaw Kosmatka narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
