Adriano Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Adriano Rodrigues sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Rodrigues in the 14th minute of play. Camilo Gaos charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 17th minute, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Adriano Rodrigues dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Jacinto Paraíba tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adriano Rodrigues scored 3-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Adriano Rodrigues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jose Correa charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from Victor Tróia in the 31st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Jose Correa. Tiaguinho da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Adriano Rodrigues ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The supporters of Xapetuba Futebol Clube booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Xapetuba Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Adriano Rodrigues looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Adriano Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Rodrigues in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Rodrigues to make the kick off. Jacinto Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Bernardo Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 62ndth minute of the game Adriano Rodrigues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Adriano Rodrigues kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 67th minute, Bernardo Soares made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. After 71 played minutes Xapetuba Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Soares. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Rodrigues in the 74th minute of play. If Bernardo Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Patrick Neiva was substituted for Jacinto Paraíba. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Adriano Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Xapetuba Futebol Clube booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball.
