S. Peron y Belgrano's Waldir Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of play. After 7 minutes C. S. Peron y Belgrano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Waldir Araújo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 17 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Waldir Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Korneliusz Mruk charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldir Araújo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Waldir Araújo. Waldir Araújo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Ecuador booed when C. S. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than C. S. Peron y Belgrano throughout the match.
