Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Servet Uğursan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DerbedeR spor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. After a rather tough play, DerbedeR spor's Servet Uğursan got a free kick in the 8th minute. If Ümit Sarih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. DerbedeR spor's attentive Servet Uğursan managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. When Ümit Sarih came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the DerbedeR spor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ümit Sarih couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göktan Tolgahan in the 29th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Göktan Tolgahan came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göktan Tolgahan in the 34th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Göktan Tolgahan kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. DerbedeR spor's Barış İdilkurt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 37th minute of play. Servet Uğursan got his second yellow card in the match during the 41st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Costa Rica's Alfredo Zoido was substituted for Lautaro Puig. In the 42nd minute, Servet Uğursan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Efrain Moruga got a throw-in 46 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eliseo Noboa. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. When Eliseo Noboa fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Eliseo Noboa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of DerbedeR spor booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Efrain Moruga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Barış İdilkurt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 58th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. The supporters of DerbedeR spor booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Zoido scored 0-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barış İdilkurt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 79th minute of play forced DerbedeR spor's goalkeeper Barış İdilkurt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DerbedeR spor's Gökcan Bedi got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Juan Rubio from long distance, 92 minutes into the match, got Barış İdilkurt's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Barış İdilkurt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Costa Rica's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
