Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Julian Murillo started the match with the kick off. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Nery Pumpido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. After 6 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Angel Alvarenga who took care of the corner kick. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute of the match GuateFortín got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Angel Alvarenga ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on GuateFortín's corner Angel Alvarenga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Roberto Trotta hit a great ball. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after GuateFortín's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Nery Pumpido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The Peru fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Peru's Julian Murillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry got a free kick in the 35th minute. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 36th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The GuateFortín players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 1-2.

The audience was convinced that Thierry Henry's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Nery Pumpido was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Julian Murillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 56 minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Henry in the 58th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 67 minutes into the game, when Anthony Alvarado put in a rough tackle. GuateFortín made a substitution. Ivan Lozano replaced Roberto Trotta. GuateFortín made a substitution. Severo Rameriz replaced Stanyo Búnkov. GuateFortín's William Villanueva was substituted for Zico Zellier. In the 67th minute, one of Peru:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peru. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Henry, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The throw-in from Severo Rameriz in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Moises Gayoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Nery Pumpido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The throw-in from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 86th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thierry Henry in the 93rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Máximo Perrone got a free kick in the 94th minute. 97 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alonso Berganza hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
