GuateFortín's Roberto Trotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Orlando Tafalla, made in the 47th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Abram Secada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 92nd minute of the match. Abram Secada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Pascual Carballar got a free kick in the 95th minute. GuateFortín's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
