The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Petr Trnka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petr Trnka got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Chesterfield's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gwidon Pawelczyk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 俞军景 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 俞军景 was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 俞军景 having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 俞军景 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Salvador Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Salvador Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Chesterfield booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Chesterfield getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Lorenzo Bazkoare hit a great ball. The throw-in from Salvador Gisbert in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Chesterfield's Lorenzo Bazkoare. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwidon Pawelczyk in the 44th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Chesterfield's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but 俞军景 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Petr Trnka to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 俞军景 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 俞军景 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chesterfield's Cosme Chale got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lorenzo Bazkoare hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Cosme Chale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. 俞军景 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Cosme Chale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After a rather tough play, Chesterfield's Godofredo Ciceron got a free kick in the 84th minute. When Lorenzo Bazkoare came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Chesterfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lorenzo Bazkoare couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petr Trnka's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Cosme Chale put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. There was no doubt that Chesterfield were the better team. Chesterfield's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
