Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Norbert Konopka scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 1-0. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 邓轩升 in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabinho Prestes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Konopka, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute.
