Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Isidoro Beltran got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jorg Pieters came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15thth minute Independiente's Felipe Roldan made a couple of brazen moves and fired away a shot to the left hand side of Venezuela's goalie, Jonathan Ferrant, understanding what was about to happen, managed to get hold of the ball just before it went behind the net. A nice save by Jonathan Ferrant. In the 17th minute Independiente were awarded a corner. Florentino Inge went to the cornerflag to take it. Independiente's Florentino Inge was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Felipe Roldan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pepe Santoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute Isidoro Beltran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Florentino Inge who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Florentino Inge got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorg Pieters's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When Independiente's Isidoro Beltran in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pepe Santoro. Pepe Santoro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gaos during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the game, Independiente's Jorg Pieters nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Beltran in the 55th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pepe Santoro having to interfere. Isidoro Beltran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorg Pieters hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Beltran in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute of the match Independiente got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florentino Inge ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Florentino Inge almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Independiente's Pepe Santoro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Independiente from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorg Pieters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorg Pieters went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 79th minute, Sören Bengtsson made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sören Bengtsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorg Pieters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Isidoro Beltran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidoro Beltran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. 95 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jorg Pieters came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Chicote thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jonathan Ferrant, a very annoying self made goal in the 97th minute which led to 6-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Independiente fully deserved thier win.
