After a rather tough play, F.C.BARLAD's Ştefan Bara got a free kick in the 5th minute. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Braulio Castel went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Nichifor Codruț managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C.BARLAD's supporters rose to their feet, but Nichifor Codruț was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nichifor Codruț in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. If Nichifor Codruț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to F.C.BARLAD getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ştefan Bara hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, F.C.BARLAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Aalexoaiei to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 28th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nichifor Codruț got free with Benito Sanz in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nichifor Codruț. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Codruț in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Nichifor Codruț reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 2-0. Valentin Verzea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Dumitru Surdu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wojtek Szczęsny made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. Wojtek Szczęsny was a little too slow when Axel Tasis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C.BARLAD's Nichifor Codruț. But to his dismay, Nichifor Codruț quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 66 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C.BARLAD the free kick. After 66 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. In the 67th minute, Nichifor Codruț left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C.BARLAD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 70th minute Braulio Castel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 minutes, Nichifor Codruț made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Efrain Moruga made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Eliseo Noboa. In the 77th minute, Nichifor Codruț ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. 81 minutes into the game, F.C.BARLAD's Nichifor Codruț nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. Nichifor Codruț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Codruț in the 90th minute of play. The F.C.BARLAD fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when F.C.BARLAD's Nichifor Codruț looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 96th minute, Nichifor Codruț ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. F.C.BARLAD had played much better football throughout.
