Thanks to some nice moves Pavel Denisov could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. Балтика -95 Калининград's Kir Kachalov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Балтика -95 Калининград's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Балтика -95 Калининград's Kir Kachalov did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Балтика -95 Калининград's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kir Kachalov came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Kir Kachalov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Балтика -95 Калининград's Kir Kachalov. Kir Kachalov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Балтика -95 Калининград booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pavel Denisov scored 3-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Балтика -95 Калининград was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Karyaka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kir Kachalov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patricio Costa went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Балтика -95 Калининград's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Балтика -95 Калининград's Kir Kachalov managed to reach the ball for a save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Denisov in the 72nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 徐光朋 in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kir Kachalov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 徐光朋 hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute Pavel Denisov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pavel Denisov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere.
