Jonathan Ferrant had great luck who in the 37thth minute grab hold of the ball when Thomas Wassberg from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. When Gunde Svan came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the MAFFIAN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunde Svan couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 52 minutes, Gunde Svan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAFFIAN and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gunde Svan kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save MAFFIAN from getting a goal against them. A collision led to MAFFIAN getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Östen Vennersten hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Dennis Edström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by MAFFIAN's Torgny Mogren. But to his dismay, Torgny Mogren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Mogren in the 96th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. MAFFIAN had won after a very even match.
