The audience thought a goal was coming when Beržas Dirmeikis got free with Julio Vera in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 24 minutes, Beržas Dirmeikis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Druskininkai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beržas Dirmeikis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of FC Druskininkai booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Luis Andino fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of 梅超浩. In the 39th match minute, FC Druskininkai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Clementi to maneuver through the defense. After 44 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. 梅超浩 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The FC Druskininkai players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

After a rather tough play, FC Druskininkai's Beržas Dirmeikis got a free kick in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 梅超浩. FC Druskininkai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 梅超浩 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. 梅超浩 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho's late challenge caught a FC Druskininkai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Sancho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Druskininkai booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Druskininkai throughout the match.
