When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Nuxila having to interfere. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Luca Zorita advanced and headed the ball into goal, 4-2 in the 43rd minute.

After a defensive mix-up in 1947 FC's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Nuxila came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
