The audience was convinced that Carmine Iannone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Domenico Campo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes Molfetta sportiva got a freekick which was hit by Francisc Bacalbașa. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ni Liang Yong came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 minutes, Carmine Iannone made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmine Iannone, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cesare Di Renzo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Molfetta sportiva's Dario Melani was substituted for Cesare Di Renzo. 74 minutes into the match, Ni Liang Yong notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dario Melani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Iannone in the 86th minute of play. Flavio Lavatrice took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 92nd minute of play forced Molfetta sportiva's goalkeeper Flavio Lavatrice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
