After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Denílson Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Denílson Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Oliver Bierhoff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeremias Moreno made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the game, Oliver Bierhoff cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Cassius Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cassius Byrne couldn't finish the play. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 33rd minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliver Bierhoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to ADM Taquaras getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Herberto Ribas hit a great ball. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. After 71 played minutes ADM Taquaras got a freekick which was hit by Herberto Ribas. USA's Sam Campbell got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Jeremias Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute of the match USA got a corner. ADM Taquaras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jenson Smith ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Baker in the 90th minute of play forced ADM Taquaras's goalkeeper Jeremias Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremias Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khalid Parry in the 92nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, USA's Raphael Moore got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
