Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Chile's Mariano Lacasa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. After 9 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Taisto Pentsinen. 10 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Taisto Pentsinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar Kuoppala's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Thiago Pliego skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 16th minute, Taisto Pentsinen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Taisto Pentsinen hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute Guillermo Fontirroig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Xavier Figueroa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Valdemar Kuoppala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Kuoppala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Rio Ferdinand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Valdemar Kuoppalas short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Thiago Pliego to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 34 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Casaus in the 36th minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfred Laulaja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edwin van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Casaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Orlando Casaus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edwin van der Sar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The supporters of Chile booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iiro Riksman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdemar Kuoppala in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iiro Riksman kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Edwin van der Sar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. A sloppy throw-in by Akseli Ilola in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Chile's Alan Tamayo. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Beckham, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Edwin van der Sar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 64th minute. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Taisto Pentsinen in the 65th minute of play. Edwin van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Mariano Lacasa could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Edwin van der Sar however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 74th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Manchester United FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Orlando Casaus advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-2 in the 74th minute. The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Carballar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Lacasa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwin van der Sar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United FC's Valdemar Kuoppala. But to his dismay, Valdemar Kuoppala quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 90 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Akseli Ilola. 95 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edwin van der Sar narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
