Ismail Köhler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some careless play in the De Gulden Draak defense, Gerardo Oalo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismail Köhler. The De Gulden Draak fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismail Köhler should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Evert Heremans took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Filiberto Fidele to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, El Retorno de Palermo's Filiberto Fidele got control of the ball when Hartmut Achterberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ismail Köhler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Walme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, De Gulden Draak's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Walme came free, but Ismail Köhler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by De Gulden Draak's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Esteban Panfilo was slow to take the kick. During this time El Retorno de Palermo's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Rosendo Izotz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ismail Köhler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosendo Izotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Evert Heremans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Fidele having to interfere. Gerardo Oalo hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. El Retorno de Palermo's Filiberto Fidele proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by De Gulden Draak's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Esteban Panfilo was slow to take the kick. During this time El Retorno de Palermo's players had a chance to rest. Omar Canor kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The De Gulden Draak players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Retorno de Palermo were winning 1-2.

In the 52nd minute, Ludwig Rebell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evert Heremans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the El Retorno de Palermo defense, Evert Heremans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filiberto Fidele. The El Retorno de Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filiberto Fidele should have stopped the shot. El Retorno de Palermo were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after De Gulden Draak's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Esteban Panfilo took the corner. 74 minutes into the game, Hilario Mikeldi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Retorno de Palermo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave De Gulden Draak the free kick. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Hilario Mikeldi got a free kick in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hartmut Achterberg in the 82nd minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Filiberto Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Retorno de Palermo's Filiberto Fidele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Heremans in the 85th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, De Gulden Draak's goalkeeper Ismail Köhler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rosendo Izotz. Gerardo Oalo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ismail Köhler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. De Gulden Draak's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
