Ercole Carnevale had great luck who in the 4thth minute grab hold of the ball when Loco Palermo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 10 minutes into the match, Montesacro FC's Egil Sjögren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ercole Carnevale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Montesacro FC's Egil Sjögren dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 13thth minute of the game Teodoro Chale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montesacro FC's Giacomo Casanova was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Santoryu FC's Angelo Lazzaro got a free kick in the 14th minute. Giacomo Casanova took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Chale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Fabricio Pere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Paolo Rossi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ercole Carnevale skillfully saved the ball. A hard shot 26 in the game by Egil Sjögren from a close distance when the talented Ercole Carnevale managed to make a qualified save. Santoryu FC's players were relieved. Egil Sjögren's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Ercole Carnevale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 34 played minutes Santoryu FC got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Facchini. Egil Sjögren came free with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ercole Carnevale could save by the left post. In the 40th minute of the game Amerigo Minicucci made a throw-in which Teodoro Chale played forward. The supporters of Montesacro FC booed when Santoryu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Muciaccia didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 48 in the game by Egil Sjögren from a close distance when the talented Ercole Carnevale managed to make a qualified save. Santoryu FC's players were relieved. After 48 minutes, Egil Sjögren made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Santoryu FC's Ercole Carnevale tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loco Palermo to make the kick off. Egil Sjögren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 54th minute Egil Sjögren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ercole Carnevale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Montesacro FC's Egil Sjögren in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santoryu FC's goalie prevented a goal. Egil Sjögren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ercole Carnevale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Egil Sjögren might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ercole Carnevale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Egil Sjögren ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute Egil Sjögren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ercole Carnevale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesare Romano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Giacomo Casanova made a huge save. Ercole Carnevale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egil Sjögren in the 69th minute of the match. If Loco Palermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santoryu FC's Dennis Nero was substituted for Teodoro Chale. After a rather tough play, Montesacro FC's Egil Sjögren got a free kick in the 75th minute. Ercole Carnevale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Egil Sjögren went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Ercole Carnevale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute, Egil Sjögren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ercole Carnevale was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 95th minute, Loco Palermo made a precise shot to the right of Ercole Carnevale. Santoryu FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Ercole Carnevale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egil Sjögren's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Santoryu FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
