After 31 played minutes WINNING ELEVEN got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Xabel. After some careless play in the Santoryu FC defense, Fred Nilsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ercole Carnevale. The Santoryu FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ercole Carnevale should have stopped the shot. WINNING ELEVEN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Nilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Santoryu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Nilsson came free, but Ercole Carnevale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, WINNING ELEVEN's goalkeeper Jake Leonard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Chale. After the first half WINNING ELEVEN were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fred Nilsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Santoryu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elia Strano to maneuver through the defense. Fred Nilsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ercole Carnevale having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Ercole Carnevale successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ercole Carnevale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fred Nilsson went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Fausto Rosetta hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. A hard shot 59 in the game by Fred Nilsson from a close distance when the talented Ercole Carnevale managed to make a qualified save. Santoryu FC's players were relieved. When Santoryu FC's Grzegorz Grzelak in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Grzegorz Grzelak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jake Leonard was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. The ball went over the crossbar instead. WINNING ELEVEN's Fred Nilsson got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. WINNING ELEVEN's Silverio Gipuzkoa was substituted for Vilhelm Gustafsson. Santoryu FC's Demetrio Di Massa was substituted for Flavio Facchini. WINNING ELEVEN's Jake Leonard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grzegorz Grzelak in the 70th minute of play. With a little luck, Santoryu FC's Ercole Carnevale got control of the ball when Fred Nilsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Santoryu FC booed when WINNING ELEVEN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andro Reiman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ercole Carnevale was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fred Nilsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 80 minute of play. Fred Nilsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ercole Carnevale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Fred Nilsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ercole Carnevale. Fred Nilsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Jake Leonard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Nero in the 92nd minute of play. WINNING ELEVEN's Jake Leonard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Nero in the 93rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Santoryu FC's zone, Fred Nilsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ercole Carnevale came out of the goal and Fred Nilsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched WINNING ELEVEN eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
