Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Belmiro Peñaranda took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in CRUZ DEL SUR's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mónico Queirolo came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mónico Queirolo having to interfere. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mónico Queirolo. Mónico Queirolo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mónico Queirolo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mónico Queirolo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Mónico Queirolo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the CRUZ DEL SUR defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mónico Queirolo. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mónico Queirolo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 38th minute of play forced CRUZ DEL SUR's goalkeeper Mónico Queirolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. CRUZ DEL SUR's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Luis Andino to a score. 0-3 in the 39th minute. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anacleto Tirado during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when CRUZ DEL SUR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Tirado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mónico Queirolo came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of CRUZ DEL SUR's Mónico Queirolo. Mónico Queirolo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mónico Queirolo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Peñaranda in the 61st minute of the match. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mónico Queirolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute of the match. Mónico Queirolo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Peñaranda came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belmiro Peñaranda took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. After 79 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mónico Queirolo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aristeo Oquendo during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CRUZ DEL SUR! After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mónico Queirolo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
