With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Belmiro Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Belmiro Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. A collision led to MALAIA FDFDF getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Romildo Binder hit a great ball. Maximiliano Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Camilo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind MALAIA FDFDF's goalkeeper Belmiro Negri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lubomír Meszároš was the one to do the kick off. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Uruguay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
