The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Luís Guimarães in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Guimarães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Juan Gar's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Gar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Camboyanos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Gar to maneuver through the defense. The Camboyanos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
