In the 65thth minute of the game Epaminondas Baba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Pranas Užkuraitis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Pranas Užkuraitis tried to chip the ball over his head.
